The wife and the mistress are united in my mind. I see my wife bending down under the grief, while the mistress’s face shows something like an alien and devilish mask.

Ancient Priest

His body is heavily terrestrial, but his head is near to the light and speaks with the Spirit. He has two hands ,one of them in one direction and the other one in the opposite direction, one closed and the other one open: this shows the duality of the human condition and also my psychological state.

The Telephone

It’s a reminder to the every day life, and also a curious identification: May herself, whom I often saw talking on the phone ,sitting in an old armchair, becomes for me… the telephone itself.

Such an identification between the subject and the object is very frequent in other Mazzucconi’s paintings. See:
