The Clothing
1986.08
70 x 100, acrylic on paper
The soul presents itself naked before the 'market'; it is accompanied by death, pale faced... A 'seller' offers it some clothes, or perhaps he removes the soul's ones. He is dark and mysterious, with slashes of fire. Yet, in the central part of the painting, there is a great light and the soul, after all, is as rose-coloured as dawn.

The Creation of Eve
1986.08
70 x 100, acrylic on paper
We are told that God made Adam - you can see how his face is still stained by plaster and how it still needs a final touch - and that, while he was asleep, He removed a rib of his and moulded it into Eve. Here then the woman emerges out of Adam, and immediately turns towards him, with her saturated breasts and her radiant face… and yet it is not hers: it is God's! On creating the first woman - this the Bible does not say - He made Himself female.
