In the large empty space left by the demolition of Baltard’s pavilions, the project envisages a park and the reconstruction of isolated perimetric areas that heal the wound inflicted on the urban fabric, as well as the reconstruction of one of the pavilions as a school of architecture.
But the real protagonist of the space is the large auditorium: an Ark (many years before the same idea for the Tete-Défense), a strong symbol for Paris (if you think of the vessel in its coat of arms) and for the end of the millennium, foreseen in an apocalyptic sense.
